Creating a Social Closet for Everyday Style
OOTD
Overview
OOTD is a digital closet and social platform that reimagines how people plan outfits ๐, find inspiration โจ, and engage with fashion communities ๐ค. Unlike tedious wardrobe apps or disjointed mood boards, OOTD seamlessly imports outfit inspirations from Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest into a unified, interactive space ๐ฑ
Problem
Despite having full closets, 83.9% of users still experience the "nothing to wear" feeling โ๐. Current tools are either too manual ๐, too generic ๐ค, or scattered across multiple platforms ๐, making daily outfit planning stressful and uninspired.
Solution
We designed OOTD to simplify closet organization ๐งน and amplify style discovery ๐:
Style Me
AI-generated outfits based on personal wardrobes, saved inspirations, and weather โ๏ธ๐
Challenge Me
Gamified style prompts ๐ฏ encouraging self-expression and exploration
Capture Me
Quick outfit logging ๐ธ and sharing with customizable visibility ๐
Impact
Designed high-fidelity wireframes ๐๏ธ for key user flows (onboarding, uploading outfits, saving inspirations, and social discovery).
Validated features through surveys (32 users) ๐ and interviews (2 users) ๐ค, identifying critical pain points around decision fatigue, styling challenges, and community needs.
Developed a go-to-market strategy ๐ focused on grassroots college ambassador programs and viral outfit challenges ๐ฃ.
Set KPIs ๐ including MAUs, new outfit creation rates, and premium conversion rates via fashion affiliate partnerships ๐.
